How cool a Chinchilla in the heat?

I wanted a chinchilla for a while, and I start to get one. The thing is that I live in an apartment top and gets very hot in summer (as I live in California). We have AC in the room, but there is room for a Chinchilla, so I'm thinking of keeping in my room. I wonder if there is a way of ensuring that the chinchilla is not in danger. Is maintained in a warm 70-80 degrees in my room, and I know that is ideal to keep in the 60s for the pet. I'm thinking of getting a tower fan and put it on the opposite side of the room the pet cage. I have also heard that the glass bottles keeping filled with ice and covered with socks can help, and I have seen the marble slabs that can be refrigerated, I hope you buy There is a safer way to keep cool the entire room for me and the chinchilla. Any suggestions?
